Become an Official Chaperone!

We’re looking for a small but mighty crew of friendly, reliable chaperones to help bring Red Farm Field Trip to life on Sunday, August 3rd — and for some, Saturday, August 2nd too.

As an Official Chaperone, you’re making the festival experience unforgettable. You’ll be part of the behind-the-scenes action, meet great people, and help deliver a safe, smooth, and memorable night under the stars. Becoming an Official Chaperone is your backdoor pass to the ultimate grown-up Field Trip.

Why Volunteer?

Because you…

  • Love live music and good vibes under the stars
  • Want to be part of a design-forward, community-first event
  • Enjoy helping people and working in a team
  • Might be trying to avoid spending $$$ on a ticket (fair!)

Roles Include:

Set-Up / Tear-Down - Help transform the field before and after the show. From raising signage and decor to packing it all down after the last note fades, this one's for the folks who love getting their hands dirty. Come help us set up signage, decorate the venue, and prep the field for magic. Ideal for early birds and behind-the-scenes folks.

Gate & Parking Attendants - Greet guests, direct traffic, and keep things flowing smoothly from the moment they arrive. Point folks in the right direction with a smile. You’ll be stationed at the parking area or entrance, answering questions and welcoming guests.

Vendor & Artist Support - Floaters who can check in on food vendors and artists as needed. (No experience needed, just a helpful attitude and good communication.)

Green Team - Assist with waste sorting, cleanup, and keeping the site tidy. We love a clean field and a healthy planet. Help us keep the field tidy and vibe intact - gently remind folks where trash and recycling go, and keep things looking spiffy.

Photographers - Got a good eye and a camera you love? Help us capture the night’s energy! We're looking for folks to snap candids, crowd shots, and all the little festival details. Must be comfortable taking direction and moving through crowds politely.

Merch Table - Help fans grab their Field Trip gear with a smile. You'll be stationed at our merch tent, helping with setup, sales, and keeping the vibes high.

Beverage Service - Support our Red Farm team at the GA and VIP Bars. Smart Serve or similar certification is a plus, but not required.

Harm Reduction / First Aid - Support safety and wellness efforts throughout the day. Must hold valid first aid, naloxone, or other relevant certification.

Field Guide (Info & Vendor Support) - Be the friendly face guests go to for help. You'll answer questions, give directions, and assist vendors with arrival and setup.

We’re Looking For Chaperones Who Are:
  • Community-minded and enthusiastic
  • Friendly, professional, and reliable
  • Comfortable being on their feet and working with the public
  • Passionate about music and bringing people together
  • Proud to support a Cape Breton-grown festival
Perks of the Gig:
  • Free admission to the festival (outside your shift time)
  • Field Trip volunteer T-shirt
  • Snacks, water, and good vibes on site
  • Our eternal gratitude (and several high fives)
Shifts + Expectations:
  • Shifts are approx. 4–5 hours, and we’ll do our best to match you to your preferred role.
  • Most shifts will happen between 2pm and midnight on August 3rd. Gates open at 5:00pm and music runs until 11:00pm.
  • You must be 19+, and we ask that chaperones attend a short orientation session (virtual or in-person) the week prior.
  • Chaperones are expected to be reliable and respectful – no experience necessary, just a good attitude.
  • Some roles require being on your feet outdoors for extended periods. If you have accessibility needs, let us know in the application form.
